In this latest model, the signature dual straps crafted from contrasting materials and the overlapping heel labels remain intact, while the sole has been completely redesigned to embody the double-layered structure that defines the name “DUAL”.
By reexamining the manufacturing process from the ground up, we achieved approximately 20% weight reduction compared to the previous model, while further enhancing cushioning and comfort.
More than a simple design update, the new sole shape features a three-dimensional, flowing silhouette that emphasizes a sleek and dynamic form. In addition, newly added engraved detailing on the underside of the DUAL sole further highlights its distinctive character.
“ unda ”
Japanese design firm goyemon has reinterpreted the traditional woven bamboo sandal, the “Setta“, and introduced modern technology to make them more comfortable to wear.
Invented in the 16th century, the setta is meant to be worn under poor weather conditions. Attached to the sole of the traditional footwear is a layer of leather which helps to keep the feet away from puddles and snow. Dubbed “Unda,” the modernized version features cushioned footbeds and midsole bubble units serving to buffer the strain from walking while logo-appliqued tags detail the heels.
